Engine News
Halleluia! Halleluia!
I just knew tough little Herbie would make it! Just the other day me my Dad FINALLY got around to working on my engine. Poor Dad. I warned him that if he kept insulting my bug with stuff like " We shouldn't have parked it under the trees, an acorn might fall and crush him." Herbie was gonna get him back sometime. Well he got his "revenge" when dad tried to remove the spark plugs. Ouch. ( Dad still has scars on his knuckles from getting cut on the rusty engine. ) Oh well, I guess their even now. After we got the spark plugs out, we sprayed PV blaster in the cylinders, and waited 24 hours in hopes that the pistons would get loose. ( Of course, as soon as we removed the engine cover it started raining and getting cold again ) Luckily, though nothing was harmed, and the next day when tried to turn the engine, Miracle of miracles, IT WORKED!!!!!! That's Herb's engine turns by hand! ( BTW, that means I won't have to buy an expensive rebuild kit ) Now I'm working on buying a distributor. ( Say that with me, distributor ) and that's only about eighty bucks.
HOORAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ducktales, wooooo....!
OK, OK, I know this is the post you least wanted to read. But it's only fair that if I'm going to wright about the interests of the rest of us, I should wright about Isabel's. We started watching Ducktales because, well, honestly at that point we had watched so much of " A Pup Named Scooby - Doo (fus)" I was about to start banging my head against the wall to rid myself of it. After trying and failing several times to find a another little kid show that was bearable yet still entertaining to Isabel, Dad finally had the brilliant idea to put on one hs favorite shows from the 80's. Thank the Lord, Isabel loved it. I don't mind Ducktales to much myself. It's one those shows you can't exactly call "bad" or even really "A little kid show" It's just, well, Ducktales!

Birthday Girl!
That was AWESOME!!!!! In case you were wondering I had a GREAT birthday! Unfortunately my big movie - and - the - mall trip with my group of friends was rescheduled, but I still had a great time. Me, and everyone in my family all went out to eat at a Mexican restaurant. The food was delicious but I ate so much chips and salsa I was too full to eat anything but cake. Oh, and about the cake, IT WAS ADORABLE!!!!!!!! My cake was made by a friend of my grandmother's, and she did a WONDERFUL job. It had white icing with red and blue trim, but my favorite part was the top of the cake which had a pop out Herbie the love bug on it. it was sssssssooooooooo adorable! We ate the cake part that night but we saved the Herbie for later, (because I was to squeamish to let anyone cut it; ) Aside from the cake, I got a lot of great presents. Including: a cute little piggy bank shaped, once again, like a VW bug ( you start to realize the theme of my little party ), a silky pink scarf ( which I wore yesterday, thank you Nina :), twenty smackeroonies spending money ( yes, I know that's not a word ) and plenty of other great stuff. All in all I had a great time was so glad I got to spend time with my family. The only two drawbacks were, first of all, that my cousin Abby couldn't be there, and second, that poor Herbie had too stay home as he has a flat tire. ; ) = 0

Happy Birthday!!!
No, no, no, Your right, I am one day off from MY, birthday, today is my dear, wonderful fathers birthday. For the sake of politeness ( and because I don't want to spend my day in my room ) I will not tell you how old he is turning. And, in going above and beyond in my niceness, I have not once today called him an "old man" ( I do have his number under that on my cellphone though )
What I love about my dad is that he is so unpredictable, he is always smiling and ready to joke with you when you need it ( and occasionally when you don't ) He can also be stern when called for. I must admit I haven't been the nicest little girl to him today, and I'm not likely to pull my self from the computer and bake him a cake, either. But still, I thought a nice blog post was the least I can do.

Babysitting
Well here I am, watching Mom pull out the driveway. Esther is mournfully watching her leave and at the same time yelling " say bye hubie!" ( say bye to Herbie ) and whining to herself. Naomi is eating a carrot in her highchair and putting it down every minuet or so to say " aaaaaawwwwwwwooooooooooooaaaaaa! " Mom just called on the cellphone with even more advice and Isabel is running around the house imitating a rooster. Ruby is on the computer. And so begins my day of babysitting.
P.S. If this is the last blog post you read, the kids killed me.

Expectations
Well it's safe to say that this week is just full of expectations. As of course you know tomorrow is election day ( AHH!! ) but I couldn't care less about that. The more important issue is the PB blaster I put in Herbie's engine, which will hopefully be running tomorrow. Then Tuesday I have a longer - term babysitting appointment ( just my sisters ) Then next week I have ( drum roll please) MY THIRTEENTH BIRTHDAY!!!!!! yay! but today, I'm bored out of my wits. : )

MY LITTLE HERBIE
Well, I finally did it. I got it. No, seriously, HE'S HERE!!!!!!! I can't even begin to tell you how darn cute he is! He's just the sweetest little thing. And, best yet, he's a 63'! just the year Herbie was! He's not a ragtop ( yet ) but you can install those. Also he's one of those super cool Wolfsburg editions! ( as if you knew what that meant ) Oh, he's soooooo adorable! And he's got an engine, too. We picked him up Saturday. When we first saw him, Mom said, " Now that's a car with personality!" I could go on all day about how cute he is, but now I'm gonna go drool over him some more.

Old Bug
You've all heard of the "new bug" right? Well wouldn't that mean that Herbie was an "old bug"? NO! Herbie happens to be a 1963 model and they get MUCH older than that. So how old DO they get? ( I'm writing this as if you actually care ) The first bug prototype was released to the public ( of Germany anyway ) in 1938. Did you know that some bugs were actually used in WWII? Dad says that's ridicules, to me it's just SICK! lol. Anyway here are some pics of the 38' model bug. Wierd huh?

Naomi
This is a blog post just for my youngest sis, Naomi. She is only eight months old ( now ) so I can't say what she'll be like when she's older. But right now I can say that she has reddish - brown hair, greenish - blue eyes and a happy, fun - loving personality. Mom says that she is the quietest baby we've had and that she is a lot like I was as a baby. She has a high - pitched - squeaky voice and likes to say "mama" and "bad bad bah!" She is very happy and thinks everything is a game. Here are my fave pics of her.

Busy,busy,busy!!!
Boy! has it been a long time since I blogged! Everybody must think I just disappeared all of a sudden! Well, FYI I'm still here! Probably some of the reason I haven't blogged in awhile is that me and my sisters and my Mom started a homeschool co - op. It's a whole lot of fun! I'm taking Drama ( aaaahhhhh!!!), creative writing and geography. Today I had to rehears a monologue ( a one - person play ) in front of m entire class. SSCCAARRYY!!! But it turned out alright. And for the first time in my life I have homework to turn in each week. UGG. Also, guess who got a cellphone and a skateboard. MMMEEEEEE!!!!! And I'm pretty good at the skateboard too. ( don't mean to brag ) The kids in my class are all really nice and I'm making a lot of friends. Well, just thought i'd let you know I'm still out there.

Lake Winnie!!!
Wow!!!!
I had a GREAT time in Lake Winnie! I was really freaked out about riding the roller coaster at first. But after Brianna forced me on to it once, I couldn't get enough! It was ssssssooooooooooo much fun!! But the cannon ball roller coaster wasn't the only thing I rode. I also rode the Orbiter, a ride which really needs a neck brace to go that fast, the Matterhorn, another spinning ride, antique cars, ( yay! cars! )a haunted house, and those chairs that take you out over the lake. I probably should say that that was the first time I've ridden on a roller coaster. Here are pics of the rides I was on. The blue one is the Matterhorn.

More Family pics.
My Crazy - Cool Family
I just thought I'd take a little while to tell you all how much fun my family is. Don't get me wrong, there not all as wacky and weird as I am. But still, read this, and you'll get a pretty good idea were I get it from. Now we enjoy several activities that most family's (at least I think ) don't do. The oldest one is his. Our dad has a bunch of cool music and stuff stored on the computer. Disco and all that. So we turn a bunch of this up real loud and all the kids get on crazy costumes and dance, dance, dance! Mom always says, "What must our neighbors think of us? " Who cares?? lol. Another thing we do is, after we got our trampoline we began the tradition of "Moon Jumping" Were we go out after dark and jump on the trampoline. I know that doesn't sound like much but it really is a lot of fun cause' you feel like your really jumping on the moon. Also we enjoy other things like, trips to CNC ( Chattanooga Nature Center ) The Tennessee Aquarium, and other places. Here is my family at the Nature Center

Hair style!
I have been to lazy for to long. I have been meaning to post about my new hairstyle! Well, I finally got tired of flipping my hair around like some kind of ditsy cheerleader. So me and my Mom looked online at teen hairstyles. From the extremely poor selections we decided that the only ones I could manage was a pretty cool layered one. And one styled by Lindsay Lohan. NEVER!!!!!! .So I picked the one here. Of course I'm not gonna get the highlights but still the way it spikes out looks neat. Mom calls it my, "punk rocker hairdo".lol.Also, this is a really stupid pic me and my sisters put together about what Spongebob would look like in the 80's.

Music Lover
I have been meaning for awhile to post about how much I LOVE music! It is sssssssooooooooooooo cool!! Unlike most kids my age, I am not really a big fan of a lot of the currently popular stuff ( like Hannah Montana ). There's nothing wrong with it...it's just never really appealed to me.On the other hand, my favorite band is the Beach Boys, my favorite boy singer is (was) Del Shannon, and my favorite female singer is Edie Brickell. I like a variety of music, just about anything that I hear and like and that Mom and Dad approve of, I put on a CD! I have 1960's and 50's rock, 70's electric guitar, 80's disco and 90's Edie Brickell. My all - time favorite song is a 1970's song called "Magic" by a band named Pilot (I think) I heard the song off of the Herbie fully loaded movie (man I am a nerd ) Any way I thought I'd say that sometime this week( PROBABLY!!!!!!) We are going to look at another, nicer bug that a friend of Dad owns.

Fairys,i pods, and updates
OK, so first of all an update on Nick News. I really and honestly don't think that they are going to pick me. Considering I would be flying out there next week if so. (That's right Hollywood, keep picking up duds. This Diva can wait!) And then I just thought I'd say something about Fairly Odd Parents. An animated Nickelodeon show we like to watch. It might not have the most educational plots, but it sure is FUNNY! And about the I pod, I earned it today cleaning out Mom's van. I also earned another album off of Rhapsody. Oh, ya, and we are going to Nina and Papa's tomorroow. Man! could life GET any better? Oh, and check out this pic of me and Herbie at bug - a - palooza. AHHH..... good times, gooood times.

First Driving Lesson
Well, Yesterday I took my first driving lesson. Cooooooooolllll!!!!!! That is, I think so nooww...... Yesterday, Me and my Dad were doing yard work. But we needed to move the cars. Our blue Volvo was right up on the hill. I remember just last year I wouldn't drive my friend's Barbie jeep. So you can Imagen my surprise when dad said he was serious about letting me back it down the driveway ( with him in the passenger side of course ). At first when I thought he was kidding so I said "Heck ya! " But then, the next thing I knew he was in the car calling me.AAAHHH!!!!!!! I probably have never freaked out like I did then. First, dad told me to put it in reverse, and I'm thinking "Reverse? reverse who?" But dad was cool and walked me through it even when I got so scared I thought I was gonna puke. Well, I backed it down the driveway, turned it around, drove up a hill with another car behind us, and then took it down the other side and parked in the grass next to dad's jeep. And after a couple minuets of intense gloating, Dad said, "OK, now lets take it back."I had to of freezed right then. If I took it back the other way I would have to go up a steep hill with a busy road behind us, then past a telephone pole. Well, I freaked again. But I was OK after I got those parts over. There was only one time when I was holding the wheel and I accidentally turned on the windshield wipers. So we're sitting on this hill and Dad's trying to turn the wipers of and I'm yelling "Emergency brake DAD!" But after that we were OK. I even parked the Volvo next to Mom's HUGE van! Of course I was telling all my annoyed little sisters "Ha! piece o' cake. I'll be driving that bug first time it runs!" And then Dad went and burst my bubble by saying, "you know, a bug has three pedals." GREAT!!!!! (not)

Daleks
Well, since I can't think of much to blog about, I thought I'd blog about my favorite doctor who creatures. The Daleks! yeah, sure, there the bad guys, but there so cool! There sort of like robots, but there supposed to be mutated aliens who live in mechanical shells. One popular fan-phrase about the daleks is: real daleks don't climb stairs, they flatten the building. It's a pretty dorky thing to blog about (I know your gonna say that Mom ) but still, what are blogs for?
